Canadian Nonprofit Library Network

Welcome to the Canadian Nonprofit Library Network (CNLN), a national initiative currently being piloted in Ontario and Alberta. Use the Alberta portal to learn about the cross-catalogue CNLN Search; or use the Ontario portal to locate Ontarian resources:

About the Canadian Nonprofit Library Network

The CNLN promotes the effective use of core resources through regional information providers in the nonprofit sector. The Imagine Canada – John Hodgson Library partners with other libraries, volunteer centres, social planning councils, United Way agencies and other nonprofit organizations that serve as information hubs in their communities or regions, and in Ontario's case provides them with a core collection of resources about the sector, an annual workshop, and training and support in using this website and other powerful online resources.

The Imagine Canada – John Hodgson Library provides free access to the largest collection of Canadian nonprofit literature in the world. Reaching underserved community-based organizations in need of useful information and training and helping them become successful service providers and grantseekers is one of our key initiatives. The Canadian Nonprofit Library Network Search gives Canadians the ability search across three online nonprofit library catalogues simultaneously, bridging resources held at widely-distributed locations, while the library's Ontario Community Collections program promotes these goals by providing local access to hard-to-find tools and resources and making it easier and more cost-effective for small to medium sized organizations to use these materials.
